I wish there was an encore to this Finale.

If you were to ask me my favorite food, I would say chocolate. While I'm sure many people love chocolate, to me, this delicious sweet is a food group of its own. I love all things chocolate and desserts more than many things in life. In Boston, there is a restaurant that has desserts that are raved about, called Finale. They have locations in Boston and Cambridge. I got a cupcake from the Cambridge location once, and it was very good, but I have been dying to try their plated desserts. Last week I stumbled upon a tweet that said Finale was having a two for one dessert deal through July. If there was a ever a time to go, it was now. My friend K and I decided to check it out and get our buy one get one free desserts to make it just a little more affordable.

I had high expectations, and they were exceeded by far. I went with the Molten Chocolate : a warm chocolate cake filled with a warm, gooey center and accompanied by a coffee gelato. To say it was delicious was an understatement. It was heavenly! The molten chocolate in the center of the cake was creamy and sweet. I would drink it every day for every meal if I could, it was that good. The coffee geleato was fresh and very well accompanied the dessert.

K got the Apple a la Mode. She's not as into heavy desserts like chocolate as I am, so this was the perfect dessert for her. An apple cranberry tart accompanied by a vanilla gelato suited her palette perfectly. She also raved about the lavender soaked hazelnut financie that accompanied the dish on the side. Needless to say, we were very satisfied  The portions were perfect and the prices were affordable  I would HIGHLY recommend this desserterie to any dessert lovers out there, and if you're not a big fan of dessert, they just might help you change you mind.
